Oxbridge Teacher Seminars - Taught in Oxford, Cambridge, Paris, and Barcelona, these seminars are excellent. One of the seminars which a couple of our librarians have participated was The Library and the Academy. The group looks at the relationship between libraries, schools and the community. As a part of this seminar, you will tour several Oxford libraries, including the Bodleian as well as local school and community libraries. The faculty and staff experts in their subjects and make all of the discussions interesting.
Donna Knott attended the Fantasy Literature seminar in July 2010.
Robyn Martin attended the Library and the Academy seminar in July 2011.
The 2011 dates have been set for Cambridge, Paris, Oxford and Barcelona!!! Check out the site for more information.

VOYA digital- the Voice of Youth Advocates is an excellent journal. The articles are almost always interesting and they have great contests for teens. If you don't get the print journal, you can check out the digital version for reviews, current articles about new tools, author interviews and more.
Reading that is Global and Social by Linda W. Braun - Braun features two e-readers that have some interesting capabilities and are not Kindles or Nooks. The idea is that students who read e-books can highlight passages and share them with others who upload the title onto their e-reader. It's an interesting way to see what others are thinking and to connect with people who either like the same book as you or who are reading it for an assignment and can offer some insight. Read the article on pages 38-39, April 2011 VOYA (click above link to read the free digital version).
